CAMPAIGNS
USSA is first and foremost a campaign-driven organization. Each year at our National Student Congress, USSA students vote to start new campaigns or endorse ongoing ones. From there, we support students across the country in running the campaigns prioritized by our membership to improve the lives of students across the country. Right now, our national campaigns are Free Higher Education and State of Emergency.
Free Higher Education is a multi-year campaign to win a free public higher education system.
State of Emergency is a multi-faceted racial justice campaign that seeks to dismantle multiple forms of systemic racism. Students can choose to start campaigns for prison divestment or increasing resources for students of color on campus. At a national level, the campaign is also pushing the passage of legislation to end police violence and voter disenfranchisement.
