Students Mobilize on Campuses Across the Country with the Message of "Don't be Fooled!"

As part of National Take Affirmative Action Day (NTAAD), hundreds of students have planned forums, rallies, and marches to educate and mobilize students on campus with the message of "DON'T BE FOOLED"; understanding that students need to know the true impact of anti-affirmative action initiatives and other attempts to roll back funding for important programs, including recruitment/retention programs and scholarship/fellowships.   Students are carrying this message from California to Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin to North Carolina, to eliminate confusion and advocate for inclusive policies on their campus.

We must continue our fight to ensure that affirmative action and equal opportunity will not end untill EVERY student has equal access to higher education opportunities.  Join students across the country to:

  • Build Diverse Coalitions to show huge support for recruitment and retention programs and to pressure administrators on supporting and developing key programs.
  • Host a GROW to learn key grassroots organizing skills to win concrete victories, improve students lives, and alter the relations of power.
  • Write Letters to the Editors for your campus and local papers to encourage them to editorialize and publish articles supporting your coalition's goals and affirmative action.
