The Student of Color Campus Diversity Project
Overview
Created in 1990 as the Recruitment and Retention Project for People for Color in Higher Education, the Students of Color Campus Diversity Project (SOCCDP) works with student of color activist to pro-actively address and break down the barriers to education that affect communities of color on their respective college campuses.
By working on campus, state, and national student-run campaigns, the Campus Diversity Project helps students of color and allies win concrete improvements for communities of color.
Through the project, the USSA Foundation provides students with educational materials, student organizing training, and ongoing technical assistance needed to win campaigns that increase recruitment and retention for students of color in higher education. We work in coalition with various leading national civil rights groups to achieve this goal.
National Take Affirmative Action Day
To counter current attacks against Affirmative Action and raise awareness around barriers to higher education that specifically affect students of color, USSAF runs a national day of action, also known as NTAAD.
