Our Work
USSA/F believes in peer-to-peer training and empowering students to breakdown the barriers to higher education. In order to reach this goal USSA runs a legislative Action Agenda campaign to work in conjunction with the many programs USSAF has developed:
Legislative Advocacy- USSA represents the voice of students on the Hill, in the Department of Education, and in the White House, focusing on priority legislation decided at the National Student Congress.
StudentsVOTE!- USSAF registers, trains, and engages diverse coalitions of students to increase youth voter turnout and increase student power.
State and Systemwide Student Associations- USSAF helps to build and sustain State Student Associations (SSAs).
Trainings & Conferences- USSAF has developed trainings and workshops to give students real skills. In addition to bringing trainings and workshops directly to students on campus, USSA hosts two conferences a year, providing additional opportunities to develop skills and learn about federal issues.
Student of Color Campus Diversity Project- USSAF works to ensure access to higher education for all communities.
SLAP- The Student Labor Action Project (SLAP) is a collaboration between USSAF and Jobs with Justice. SLAP works to promote student-labor solidarity.
LGBT Resources- Queer students can face certain barriers. USSA is committed to helping students organize to eradicate those barriers.
